The NBT Machining story.

After spending almost two decades perfecting his precision machining and management skills as a manufacturing supervisor, Ted Rawson decided to start his own business. Ted founded NBT Machining in 1979 and set out to create a company that would provide precision-machined parts and assemblies and fast, responsive customer service at very competitive prices. Today NBT offers high quality CNC machining and precision assembly services – along with in-house certified welding, honing and lapping – in a modern, full-service manufacturing environment.

And, we have advanced CAD/CAM capabilities to process your digital files and datasets in any standard format.

New Automatic Horizontal Band Saw

December 2018

NBT Machining has purchased a new Amada HA250W Automatic Horizontal Band Saw. This new saw features rugged construction designed to cut a variety of materials from high-temp alloys to free-machining materials with reliable precision. With a 9.0” diameter capacity and coolant and chip-disposal systems, this saw can handle the tough jobs and run unattended for extended periods of time.

Not every precision machine shop has in-house sawing capabilities, but we do. At NBT Machining we like to control the manufacturing process as much as possible and this means moving outside processes inside whenever we can. Along with materials sawing, NBT offers in-house honing, lapping, welding, and vertical band sawing. By streamlining the manufacturing process, we deliver quality, reliability, and solid value for our customers each and every day. New Samsung MCV 500 VMC

January 2018

NBT Machining has purchased a new Samsung MCV 500 Vertical Machining Center, significantly increasing our CNC milling capacity. Our new Samsung features a superior structural casting design with wide, heavy-duty cross roller guideways for high rigidity that delivers close-tolerance machining on even the toughest materials. A 12,000-rpm spindle with through-spindle coolant and a 30-tool capacity provides high-speed machining for increased efficiency, lowering our overall manufacturing costs and saving our customers time and money.

Increased Machining Capacity at NBT

March 2016

NBT has once again increased machining capacity with the addition of a new Doosan Mynx 5400/50 Vertical Machining Center. This ultra-modern precision machine tool features a 40” x 21” x 21” xyz machining capacity and super-rigid construction with large, box-type ways for extraordinary accuracy and superior surface finishes. The 50-taper spindle, driven by a two-step gearbox, delivers exceptionally high torque and covers a broad spectrum of tough machining applications such as hi-temp, high-tensile, and hardened metals.

Our new Doosan Mynx VMC is the latest addition to our ever-increasing precision manufacturing capabilities.
